| What is your favorite bit to tune in? or back one off the bit? Draw bits? Rope nose combo bits? long shanks? What brands? ported bits?
Also, what is your opinion on combo bits? your favorite one? |

Location: USA | For me it depends on the horse and how hard mouthed they are. The Neil Merrill medium shank and Paul Humphrey ported bit are 2 I’ll use to get mine to back off. One of mine is super sensitive so it doesn’t take much. One horse was just super tough mouthed and the ported petska is what I? would use |

Location: North Dakota | Every horse is different, but I've found that if I ride mine for a few days and tune on her in just a snaffle, when I go back to her regular bit she's much more responsive. |

Location: WI | I switch my bits all the time, but if I'm specifically looking to tune I'll use either my square mouth Flaharty snaffle with German. Or a short shank Cervi. If I REALLY need to tune, I'll go to a pretzel. |

I had a mare that for about 3 years, LOVED to run in an Ed Wright pretzel. She loved having the rounded ported mouthpiece, and I would tune her up with their correction bit. She only needed a few minutes of feeling that mouthpiece on her tongue before I would switch back to the pretzel. We rode throughout the week with a d-ring snaffle, and at the rodeos if she was too sassy and not responding, that’s when the correction came out.
She ended her career loving to run in their short shank dogbone.

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I go back to either a good ol twisted snaffle or thanks to living with a bunch of cutters, a correction that we call the shovel. It will regain respect in a hurry! |
