Location: Missouri | Yesterday, the boss that screamed at me, lost his job! Apparently I'm not the only person he has lost his cool with in recent months. I heard this morning that one girl quit over it (I'm in a different building so news travels slow). Anywho, I'm still here. Since the outburst a few months ago he has been extremely nice to me, even gave me a Christmas gift and he never has before. I let it go and moved on because I really didn't have that much contact with him anyway and my income and retirement is more important to me.
My future may still be unknown however. They can't terminate me just because my boss was let go and they can't eliminate the position because they have to find a new County Counselor, and he has to have an assistant. However, I suppose the new guy could bring in his "own" person. So that's a bit scary. For now, I still hold that position and our law firm has a contract as Assistant County Counselor for the year 2018.
The other attorney I work for, in the law firm I'm at, has decided to run for Judge. So, provided he wins, my future may still be uncertain. The firm has 2 attorneys that do not have assistants, so I'm fairly confident I'll just end up working for one of them.
Life is a crazy journey and if you don't bend like a tree in the wind, you'll break. I have eight years till retirement and I'm gonna be the bendiest tree in the forest. |

Location: the end of the rainbow | I'm feeling you. We just had a secretary quit & my boss doesn't think it was because of the mean girls. Lol. Election season is just getting started and the Republican party decided to back a new contender instead if my boss (the current DA) so things are going to a regular roller coaster around here until November. I'm trying really hard to be a super bendy tree. Lol. We will get this through this T, it's just gonna take a lot of wine & chocolate |

Location: Texas | I worked for a city government department for 36 years before my retirement. There was always some supervisor that was being a jackass and everyone would get upset. I used to tell them that people come and people go, but I am just going to do my job and will be here when they are gone. Keep your head up and plugging away and most of the time everything works out. |
