Took my gelding to a better vet last week and go some good news!

His bone chip is healed, but the prev vet never pointed out his bone spur. I didn't know better, shame on me for not asking. This vet did flexion tests and could not get him to show any soreness. The plans are to inject him in the spring once his workload increases to make sure he's comfortable. He's been off since September, so he will brought back in really slow.

Question is, what do I need to keep an eye on for this spur? Should he regularly be poulticed after being worked? Any tips?
I included his x-ray too. He will have cooling/ice packs on his hocks after every workout once we get past a walk. He is on THE performance blend with gluchon and breather blends.

To add in on the good news.
He notoriously pointed his right front foot last year, so I had it looked at. His knee x-rayed clean and minus needing a trim his navicular bones were the cleanest she's seen in a 10 year old for a long time. He has worn his toes to be squared off in the front, so he might be telling me something there. Since he has squared himself he hasn't pointed his foot, not once.
