What do you do for a horse that has blanket rubs on their chest, shoulders, and hindquarters? He wears a rotation of 4 different blankets from 3 different brands. He's very broad and stocky and when he puts his head down, the neck of his blankets are always really tight against the base of his neck, sometimes causing the velcro to come undone/fold over. Suggestions for blankets for big horses like that? Would lycra sheets underneath his blankets help with friction? It's easier to wash those too.

Not sure what to recommend if getting a replacement is not an option. It is likely the cut of the blanket that doesnt work for his size/shape. Just like not all cuts of jeans work for each person. www.sstack.com has shoulder and wither relief blankets that are very high quality.

Yes! Check out Schneider's. I just ordered this one! It has made a huge difference.

shoulder guards will help, but it sounds like he needs a different cut/style of blankets. Like the above mentioned, schneiders has a wide variety! theyre very helpful too.

Get the full body slinky thing with the front all the way down zipper from schiendiers. It fixs rubbing. Or at least it has for me on two horses.

The new Weatherbeeta's have a foam structured withers and open chest design, they are amazing!

I love the Shedrow or Country Pride Blankets
( Same brand- Just depends on where sold
) I get mine from
www.bigdweb.com
they have good sales and I havent had rub issues due to the lining... plus they are dang near bulletproof

We've been in the 80s for the last month here so I just put all my blankets away into storage. I can't remember the brand of mine but they never rub! They have some adjustments to the fronts that allow more movement.

Lycra sheets are amazing and really help bring out a shine to the coat. A full body and if you have use a hood get one that covers the face and neck too
