| This is a great question for a good lameness vet that has seen the horse and done X-ray and ultrasound. Stifles are complicated. |

| I can give you two other supplements to check out besides the CurOst. Stride Rewind (really helped my horse with a stifle strain) and Grand Meadows Complete Plus for all 3 of mine. |

Ditto to what classicpotatochip said. |

Location: Texas | probably a good idea to go back to the vet who diagnosed the stifle injury for some follow up on rehab to see if hes far enough along to be making runs. if hes getting sore after a run and work he may need to be dropped back down and rested again. |

Location: Willows, CA | There is a lot of confusion between feed through joint health products and injections. In general injections are meant to improve acute injury inflammation or inflammation from active arthritic changes. Feed through supplementation, in general, is best used to support a better joint environment and in turn lessen damage done by hard use. In other words, feed through supplements rarely are effective in curing lameness, but may be useful in preventing it from happening or lessening its severity when it does. This is why so many different opinions are voiced about feed through joint health products. One user swears that their horse is better with it and another will swear that they are a waist of money. The likely truth is that the two horses treated had different issues going on and the feed through was positive for one and could never be for another no matter how much or which one you fed. |

| For stifles, I always give a shot of Polyglycan IV the morning of a run (if you can give it 4-6 hours before an event I think that's best and my vet recommends that). But, if we are going to a 3 day show I will give the first shot the morning before we leave and the second shot 4-6 hours before my second run. TANDEM is a great joint supplement, specifically stifles but I think you may have to have a prescription for is. I get mine for $76. I recently started a mare that I sent down the road that will rodeo this year, shes 11 and came from Janet Stover on Animal Elements Finish First because that is what the girl who brokered her had her on. I went ahead and ordered it, and started an older gelding on it who is stalled next to her because I couldn't help myself. She has obviously been on it, but I will say he feels quite good compared to before he jumps and plays a lot now where he was always a little creeky before. We are impressed enough we may try to see if the mare we have on TANDEM (injected every 4 months fronts and 6 months inside, and sarapin back injections about once a year) to Finish First and see if we see the same or better results.

| Â if your horse is sore after a workout or a run and just coming off an injury your horse is probably not completely ready for that level of work or it's not fully healed and is still hurting. A supplement won't fix this problem. I'd be going back to the vet. |

| I would get him on a good joint supplement like GLC5500MAX. It is the only oral joint supplement on the market with a powerful patented formula which allows the supplement to be absorbed 6x time more then any other supplement on the market. GLC5500MAX as a proven absorption rate of 63% whereas all other leading brands only have a 6-10% absorption rate. It is proven to reduce pain in as little as 2 weeks, increases HA production naturally in just 4 weeks, slows the progression of osteoarthritis, and reduces injections up to 80%. Its roughly $50 a month so it's very affordable. please email me at [email protected] or find me on facebook for more information! |

Location: The Great Northwest | Hemp Oil is a relative newcomer to the group of oils fed to horse, but it has a traditional use as a healthy, beneficial oil that dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Hemp seed oil is a unique oil in that contains all the identified essential fatty acids, known as the omegas. Hemp seed oil provides not only Omega 3 and Omega 6, but Omega 9 as well. But what really sets Hemp seed oil apart from the other oils is that it provides GLA: gamma linolenic acid. Hemp seed plant based oilseed provides essential fatty acids; Linoleic acid (an omega 6) and alpha linolinic acid (an omega 3) in a 2.8;1 ratio of omega 6s to 3s. Though inverted in relation to what would be found in pasture grasses, hemp seed oil has an added "secret weapon" that is not commonly found: Gamma Linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is actually an omega 6 fatty acid but, unlike other omega 6s that increase inflammation, GLA reduces it. Benefitting a wide array of chronic inflammatory-related illnesses and conditions. I feed Hemp Oil and the meal and I feel my horses work/feel great as they recover from any soreness from daily work well. |

This is interesting.
Why does it work so well?
Do you sell this? Where can a person get this?
Does it contain “canabidiol”?
How much does it cost?
How much do you give? |

| I have just started taking the CBD oil or hemp oil. From my understanding this is made from a different part of the plant. Google it quite interesting. I get it from my chiropractor. It tastes really bad but it kind of grows on you just make sure you have some water to chase it down. Leaves a nice clean taste to your mouth after though. I have only been taking it for 2 weeks. I have IBS-D and diverticulous and I have noticed that it seems to be helping with that. As far as pain, soreness the verdict is still out on that, but maybe yes it does help. |
