Im read through all the threads but haven't found the answer I'm looking for

I have a hard to ride horse, he doesn't leave me in the turns so to speak but when he goes to turn instead of rating he just locks in down and commits the turn, in turn, throwing me forward on to his neck.

I have a friend with a Double J pozzi i was going to try this tuesday but wanted to know if d be wasting my time and hers, and just need to try the Pro?

Ive read the pozzi has a higher cantle and deeper seat, but then I've read the Pro has forward hung stirrups and sits you more on your pockets rather then over your horse like they said the pozzi does??

Aka... which one seats you in the saddle, deep that isn't going to throw you forward?

Edit to add: I rode in a Double j lynn mckenzie that i loved! But didn't quite do the job!
edited again to add: What the difference between c3 and double J?? anyone rode in the two??

I personally prefer the Pro over the Pozzi because the Pro has a 4 inch cantle and the swells are slightly forward. I wouldn’t say the stirrups are super hung forward but  do allow you to get your feet forward. I like this because I like to roll my pelvis forward a bit and sit deep on my pockets and this saddle allows me to do it.

You'll get mixed responses with the pozzi because a lot of people complain that they throw them forward. I however disagree and love them. The only way I could see it feeling that way is if the saddle may be too wide for the horse or the seat being too small. Brittany designed it so she could ride two handed anywhere on the pattern and feel secure. I feel like this is just what it does. It's a nice deep seat that holds you in.

I also have a couple pros as well and like them equally as as well. They are very balanced and do sit your feet slightly more forward. My colt has a wicked move on the first barrel and I always manage to stay right there with him in that saddle.

I like them both pretty equally so it's hard for me to pick. I personally would probably choose the pozzi if I wanted something more secure. if you feel like your constantly getting thrown forward and want something balanced that will set you down I would try a pro.

When I look I see a Pozzi Pro. I'm not sure what the difference is between them. http://doublejsaddlery.com/c-345142-saddles-barrel-racers-pozzi-pro.html

The full name is pozzi pro racer they all have that carved on the keeper people just shorten it and call them pozzis or pozzi pros. There’s no difference. There are different trees (standard, wide, #10, flex, #11, etc). The Double j Pro has the same tree options.

I was riding my mare's neck as well. I was riding in a Cacuts-CJ and it was just throwing me around. I bought a used Double Jo Pozzi Pro, (#10 tree)13.5" seat and now I stay in my seat. I love how I sit in it. My friend rode in it the other day, made a run on my mare, she said she had a hard time getting up out of it....I haven't had that problem.

What tree does this Pozzi have that you will be trying, some trees don't work on all horses. I have a wide fit, standred and the #10 love them all...The #10 will have more rock to them.

I'm not sure the tree, its a friend but i will text and ask her. My gelding is big 15.2/3 hand guy that is as wide as he is tall but thankfully still has some withers. huck of a horse though.

edit to add. she said "Standard, i think"
