| Any fellow Californians know of a reliable source of quality/soft/Hay cubes? I'm tired of the inconsistency in hay. This is the land of Hay, its grown locally all around me. Sometimes its full of dust, sometimes good etc. I'm tired of hay " Hunting". Seems all the cube dealers I read about on here, Hayrite, Omnis etc, are no where near CA. We do have tractor supply but I am not a fan lol Thanks for any advice. |

| I use the Danco cubes, but only because I don't have to soak them and they are smaller than the Standlee cubes. I haven't really seen a difference in how they look on just cubes alone, no matter which cubes I used, Hay-rite, Danco or Standlee. Now the Omni cubes did make a difference I think, probably because they had flax in them. My experience with Standlee was good. I used them for several years and the cubes were never moldy or brown or had a lot of fines. Every once in a while I did find some hay twine in there,(once in 2 or 3 years) but I did in the others too. They are just not as convenient to use as Danco Mustang Sally. The help at TSC though, usually leaves a lot to be desired, at least at the one closest to my house. |

Location: MN | You should look into D&D nutrition on FB. I believe they are mainly in Texas but they do ship. He does have a minimum buy though - not sure how many horses you are feeding. I tried to get them up here in MN but I just wouldnt go thru the minumum quickly enough and I couldnt get my local co-op's to carry them either. If I had a place to store them, it'd probably be a different story for me. He has several different cubes and they are very SOFT. Really like them a lot and was disappointed when I couldnt get my co-op to carry them. GREAT quality! |

Same here, I am only feeding 2 horses at the moment and not likely to increase my herd. LOL THat was another consideration as well when I contacted several companies. THey told me I had to buy a minimum ( Which I totally understand) but it just wasnt in the cards for me. I know TS carries several different brands. They even have the LSI brand. I might pick up a couple bags and from what I understand TS will order if you buy a 1 pallet minimum. Two horses can go through a pallet I would think rather quickly. |

Yep. Only 2 horses here as well and NO chance of increasing that number anytime soon lol. At the time, I believe his min was 4 pallets and there was just no way I could take that much at once. I could take on 2 pallets easily but then you factor in freight so on and so forth...wasnt worth it then. Maybe on down the road because the quality of his stuff is by far the best I've seen. I dont have a TSC so I'm jealous you have so many options lol. I only get Standlee up here and I keep a close eye on those because I've seen quite a few twine stories lately in their cubes. |

TS does stock standlee so that is open option. We shall see! He is going to price out 2 pallets for me. |

Location: California | Yes, our feed store (Norco, CA) just stopped carrying them...they are alfalfa/oat bites...they are FANTASTIC...they crush easily and are good size - smaller than a hard compact cube but bigger than the rabbit pellet size crud we see all the time...a friend and I are trying to find them and buy a bunch... | Find a friend/neighbor with the same line of thought to split the minimum order? |

Thought about that but so far no luck. I was quoted just over 1000.00 for 2 pallets worth from D&D. Which isin't that bad but quite a bit to have to cough up all at once. |
