Veteran Posts: 113 Location: Wyoming	What do you use to divide the stall bars between your horse and others at a show? With all the diseases going on I would like to put something up between them so they cannot touch noses.

Expert Posts: 1409 Location: Oklahoma	I wont stall at a show unless absolutely have to! You could get tarps and hang course you might spook a few horses. If you are talking bout the bbr, you should request to be at the very end against the wall. That way you are close to the door and there is only like 4-6 stalls lined up between the doors and your horse wont be in the middle with less air flow. Last year there wasn't hardly any horses in those stalls and you might get lucky and be the only one on that wall.

The Vaccinator Posts: 3810 Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo.	I've hauled and stalled for over 40 years -- never had one issue with a horse contracting any sickness. I keep all mine up to date on recommended vaccines and give a flu booster two weeks prior to a big show.

Also have multiple horses so was hoping someone had come up with something besides tarps! Some places we cannot request where we would like to be and of course get stuck in the middle plus having stalls on the back side. Of course, no pens can be set up at most of them.

Expert Posts: 5293	Considering if one horse with say, Rhino ( Flu) can sneeze into the air or breathe into the air while shedding virus ( Contagious) and infect horses even miles away depending on wind, there is nothing you can use at a " Show" to protect your horse other than being up to date on vaccinations. My fully vaccinated horses caught a respiratory virus from my neighbors horses that are several 1000 feet away from mine ( But wind blows towards my place from theirs) then they don't need actual contact to get sick. Never let a horse use a communal water trough etc. I bring my own hoses, etc. I asked my vet WHY mine got sick even being vaccinated and she told me its like human flu, some years vaccines are more effective, others not so much. SHe also recommended mine get a flu booster at 6 months. Mine were vaccinated in April 2017 and got sick in December. Had I known I would have done a 6 month booster.
