| On March 26 I broke my wrist loafing a broodmare in our trailer. She jumped in and slipped, her chest slamming my hand as my elbow was against the slant essentially turning my arm into a C shape. Due to circumstances I wasnβt able to see an orthopedic specialist for 2 weeks. My insurance had been turned off through work. I called my huband (fiance at the time) and he took me to the ER. They down played it big time, and said itβs probably just sprained. My husband went to work with me every night (I am a night tech at an equine vet) to be my left hand while still going to his job during the day. He learned how to wash my hair, put my hair up, shave my armpit, etc. on April 6th we got married as planned. On the 9th I saw an ortho. I got the news that my arm (wrist) was pretty seriously messed up and I needed a pin in my ulna & a new, larger, plate in my radius. My husband has been to work with me every night since I broke it. He has dealt with his job (active duty AirForce), my job, breeding our 2 mares, feeding all 6 horses twice per day (with my gimp help), netting round bales (severely allergic)...etc. You name it, he has taken care of it. I am laying here post op 18 hours with him sound asleep next to me. God gave me the greatest man anyone could ever imagine. I donβt have a want or a need in the world. This is a man who came from an apartment in the city, whom had never touched a horse in his life and just a year and a half later can successfully lunge an unbroke colt, saddle correctly, load a difficult to load horse, and knows what they eat & why they get it. He is so into being involved it makes my heart so full.
When all else seems to be wrong, I know I am blessed. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me <3
