Pentosan is a little better for horses with arthritis issues already. I like adequan for young healthy joints that you want to keep that way. Poly is a great option and i use it few days before long weekends.
How often do you give the pentosan? |

Pentosan monthly after 4 week loading dose. I give Poly monthly for a horse with no issues or every 2 weeks for a horse with issues. |

| For you Poly users... I have heard it could cause a horse to bleed. Is this true? |

Nope, never heard of that. THe ingredients in Poly ( HA, Glucosamine, chondroiton) are in a million products OTC, IV etc. Never heard that. Now pentosan won't CAUSE them to bleed but may make them bleed worse if they DO bleed. It is an anticoagulant. |

Never had that problem, nor have I heard of that before. A lot of horse are on it up in my area and no bleeders. |

I haven't had any issues with this either. My mare has been on it for about 18 mos now. |

I do IV or IM. If the horse is a little pain in the A** IM if they are easy IV. I dont think ive ever noticed better or worse results from either or |
