Saddle hurt spine

I bought a light saddle for my smaller horse. It rides as good as my Coats. I never though about running my hand underneath until she threw me. There is a BB size place on the rawhide that has hurt her back. Bone is good according to X-ray. Bless her heart it hurts like heck. Any ideas what I can do? I shaved her spine so I could have a good look. It s wrinkly where she hurts.

Wow, what kind of saddle was it? I think it'll just take time to heal up. It's probably bruised. When you do go to riding her again, make sure your saddle pad is dispersing pressure. Maybe try a CSI?

The saddle is ancient but handmade. I can nip off the offending part and smooth it out. I guess I’m looking for a quick fix and worrying about nerve damage.
