Buying a trailer that has a smooth saddle racks and from past experience I know that saddles slide right off that when you moving the trailer. I was thinking about gluing some carpet to the whole slick area but I figured I'd ask some options on here before I start getting crafty crazy.

Go to home depot and get some of the Wide industrial Velcro. Like 2 or 3 inches wide. Run couple strips down each side of the rack. It will stick something fierce . I used it for that and my horse boots on the door.

My trailer has like outdoor carpet sewn in a circle that fits tightly over the rack and everything stays. I do like the velcro idea - I plan on using that for my boots up front

I put rubber tarp straps on all my saddles.

I use those coated wire ties that you can get at Home Depot or TSC. For some reason, the top saddle never slides off and isn't secured in any way.

The trailer I have has the smooth saddle racks, the person before me took skins with hair on hide and glued them to the saddle racks. I have no issues with my saddles sliding except for my daughters small saddle that is placed on the top rack

I use bungi straps....wrap one end underneath the saddle rack , bring the opposite side up and wrap around saddle horn.

Bungee cords work great no matter how bad the roads are.

Get you some scrap carpet …

and glue two thicknesses about 8 inches wide
on the end of the rack under the bars of your saddle

The tilt backwards will secure your saddles ..

What about getting some of that sand paper like stuff that you put on outside steps so you don't slip
