$78 ×2= $156

Of course there's a lot of incurred costs but that is what mine charges for AI. It's one the cheaper parts of my bill..lol

The cheapest cost I've ever had was about $300, when my mare stepped off the trailer a breeder.  I've also paid up to $900 in vet costs.

If you look at an invoice its like 45-60 for the AI but that doesnt count the board, palpations, drugs, hormones, etc. I tell people 300-600 to get a mare in foal with cooled shipped semen on one cycle bearing no other issues like culture and treatments and lavages.

My vet charges $350. There is also a cost of shipping which can be anywhere from $350 to 450. That is if you catch the mare in the first try, if not you start all over again. I have had a vet charge $700 for the exact same services. That vet just would not quit sending me bills!  I think you can ask them in advance. I would certainly use a vet that knows how to AI and does it regularly or it can get expensive in a hurry.

Thank you all for the input!

This will be our first time to AI a mare. Anyone want to walk me through the steps?

I know that we take her to be examined by the repro vet and forward that info to the stallion manager.

For the meds, and other costs I believe it is $268 at my vet and that includes the ultrasounds as well

I figured $500 if all goes well.

I now do it on my own and it costs me $30.
