Veteran Posts: 262	I’m starting my research to invest in a new saddle. I really like the deep seats of the Just B Natural’s I’ve seen and have been leaning that way for my purchase. But I’ve never used a treeless and I have this worry I’ll hurt my horses back with one. I researched flex trees and it seems there are concerns there as well for the horses spine. I’m not a heavy person but I still worry about leaving my normal treed saddles for a treeless or flex tree. Anyone have any experiences with treeless and flex trees and would you recommend them?

Peecans	I have a treeless and treed saddles. Every saddle can cause back issues. My horse with SI and back issues actually only goes well in a treeless, she is actually the horse I broke down and got one for. (I had a very pour opinion of them prior) Now I can feel every movement and she can feel every one of my movements, that can be good and bad if you flop around a lot you will be directly on her back. Posting was a new feeling in it too, it made my legs and core really tired and sore until I got used to it an used those muscles more. I dislike the rigging a lot on the tammy fischer I have but I live with it because I like how my horse feels in it so much. Im also not crazy about the stirrup fenders they catch on my boots and bother me but I have really short legs and had to add an extra set of holes so might not be an issue if you don't.

Expert Posts: 1631 Location: Somewhere around here	I like both, I've had treeless and treed buy no flex treed ones; which is in my bucket list of things to buy and try. As long as it fits the horse, fits me, and I can ride/race in it comfortably then I'm a happy camper

Member Posts: 30	I have ridden regular tree and flex trees (Marlene and Lisa) without any issues. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a quality flex tree saddle.
