Do you know this horses reg. name or her reg. number? And you cant get the duplicate papers unless she is under your name. |

You're SOL without a transfer. Even if you had a transfer the owner by AQHA records has to apply for any replacement of the papers. |

Almost a week later and still nothing back from her, I do not have the colt back or has she sent me the papers on the mare. We met halfway on the trade so there is no way of knowing exactly where the colt will be. What would you do at this point? Let it be and just consider the mare grade?! She is bred too well and her siblings are all proven 1D horses that sell in the 5 figure money, so I am taking a big loss on not getting the papers. How would you know how she is bred never seeing papers on this mare? I really have my doubts this mare is reg. in the first place.. I would never take someones word on something like this unless papers are in hand. Just caulk this up as a lesson, dont take someones word unless theres proof.. Hugs to you but I dont think theres anything you can do at this point. I did some digging and found her breeder's website and the pictures on the site do confirm this mare's breeding. It's a lesson learned for sure, just frustrating that you can't trust anyone anymore.
Why dont you just call the breeder and talk to them, I would be curious and ask about the sale of this mare to this person that you traded with, heck you never know they may still have the papers on this mare, sometimes this happens when selling a horse to get them off your feed bill the seller may have let her take the mare on payments but holding the papers untill the mare is payed off, maybe this could be the case, so I would call just to check, like I said you never know. This person you traded with sounds really shady anyways.. |

You have a really good point, which is maybe where the "i need cash for the mare" is coming in. Hmmm...you really have me thinking now lol. Shady is an understatment for this person, I should have walked away in the beginning when I saw red flags. Live and you learn. Link to the mare is below.

Location: Arkansas | It's unethical people like this that cause others to not want to trade with honest people like me...i have a very nice mare with anhidrosis during July, August, Sept. when it is super humid and she is so miserable during those months even with her medicine plus a mister that i thought i would try to trade her to a home up North where she would be much more comfortable and could excel, I was totally honest about her to each person i reached out to but no one seems to want to trade these days and i imagine it's because of these type situations...SMH...guess i may have to build her an a/c stall. |

| And a deal kinda like this is why my niece now has a horse named Shady. your story sounds kinda like my weekend last weekend first the mare the x amount. then someone else came and tried her jumped up to x amount because they didn't realize how nice she was. then when I balked they said they would honor the first amount... I just shook my head and didn't even go because there was no telling how many times the amount would change on the 2 hrs up there.
I'm sorry you're going through this, hopefully, you will be able to get everything straighten out. |

You’ll need the Breeder to sign a transfer to that lady, and that lady to sign a transfer to you. Then, you can get a duplicate copy. I did it last month. Was $125. But all my people were willing to sign. |

Location: Canada | Have you actually verified that the mare was in this person's name? Have you checked AQHA online. This mare may still be in the previous owners name. Have you tried calling the other person or just sending a message? If you tried calling then try calling from a different number and see if she will answer.
ETA - This mare is still listed in the breeders name.

She can't. The person didn't respond to a message and she met half way so she doesn't know where they live. |

I would be contacting the breeeder so you can at least get the papers in your name on the mare. Will be better for you in the long run. |
