When I got a new hack and the nose piece was stiff and not forming to my horses nose I would fold the nose band together and wrap a thick rubber band around it and leave it for a few days and spraying a little bit of water on it here and there.. The latest one I bought came with the noseband electrical taped on the ends together so it was easier to get it to form to the nose right away.

Thats a good ideal too, I would leave mine sitting out in the sun for a few days and that did the trick for me.. This Texas heat/sun can really get stuff to soften up, lol..
