I have already tried MTG, Corona, coconut oil, olive oil, Vetricyn, even tried Icthamol. Many others as well, just cant think of them right now. I have one mare that gets the rain rot all over her face, in her armpits, on  her pasterns, in her mane, and by the end of summer has a tail like a rat. She has done it for years. Her mother did it and several others out of her mother. But she gets it the worst. Poor girl gets so itchy she is miserable. Vetricyn has done the best so far but still not killing it, I dose her every day all over and its just holding it at bay. Very expensive too!  So please share any new ideas, treatments?  Thanks!

Bleach water..... mix it 50/50 and spray every day for a week.  After spraying work it in with your fingers.  It won't burn and it will kill rain rot.

I just bought an anti-fungal spray at Tractor Supply. I cant recall the name of it. It is a white bottle with a yellow label. A few days of spray application in the areas affected and it disappears.

My 5 horses recently got rain rot with all of this Florida rain.  I did one treatment of Iodine Shampoo and it was gone except one horse required 2 treatments.  I just shampoo'd it in with a rubber curry comb and let it sit about 10 minutes, then rinsed off.

I've always used 50/50 bleach water myself if needed. It's always done the trick after about 2 treatments.

Yikes! makes me think twice about putting it in my mouth!

I'm guessing the alcohol in it is what kills the fungus.

I use the listerine method but I like the Head and Shoulders idea too.  Listerine works good if you aren't in a bathing situation (cooler weather).

Just dont forget you need the scabs off for whatever you use to work its magic. So I bath before I treat to loosen them up, then bleach water with a good scrubbing, then rinse.

Where do you get this Captan Powder? Would it work for itchiness.
