Does anyone ever pack their horses feet at a rodeo that has hard ground? If so how do you do it and what do you use?

We have used the equi-pak gel before if we are going to be running a lot on rocky ground and it seems to help but it doesn't last long. I'm not sure if it would help for hard ground or not though.

Location: Kansas		I've been told to spray starting fluid on their soles if you know you'll be on hard ground. That's from the old school farrier who used to train & shoe on the track.
