Out on a road trip, never been west.
Drove through Arkansas from Tennessee
Heading to Fort Sill and then back down through Texas.
Any suggestions for stops along the way?
I'm excited to see Texas

How long will you be in Texas, what part? Our state is huge, you can drive for 12 hours from the state line and still be in the state

The Dallas/Ft Worth area is wonderful. APHA offices, stockyards(rodeo there on the weekend), Amon G Carter Museum(think by the APHA office now, APHA moved) water gardens and Western stores in the stockyards—all in Ft Worth. The are plenty of barrel races all around that area—Hamilton and Azle. Some North of Dallas. South of that area there are races in Alvarado, Glen Rose. These are a little drive but we are used to that around here. The color mpetition is probably the toughest in the country.

When you head back East, come through East Tx and stop by Josey’s there may be a clinic going on. There is one in late September “Back To School” clinic. The western store is fabulous. Lots of neat bits etc then go eat at Caddo Lake—not far up the road and beautiful
