Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I wash down the interior of my barn twice a year -- then use a leaf blower to clean the barn -- it pretty much blows all the bugs / webs, etc., outta there..... and a side benefit is my horses are not bothered by the loud noise. I have a leaf blower that is dedicated the barn-- use it to "sweep" the aisle most every day.
If only it would blow away the skunk I've seen outside the barn a couple of early mornings recently.... |

| One of those sonic pest controllers will get rid of spiders. I saw a decrease I insects, too, but they do not say they will get rid of insects, just spiders.
By the way, they are designed to get rid of mice

| Use a broom and then water spray your barn down to clear all
the dust and webs ....
Let dry with fans or doors opened for 3-4 hours and then use
one of these products below per the instructions ....
Either one specializes in killing spiders which are tuff to get
rid of.... You will be amazed at the overall barrier for flies and
other insects that will happen .... Stray flies flying into you barn
door will turn into kamikaze pilots as they hit the ground dead as
a door nail ...
This comes in spray cans too and can be bought at Lowes or
Home Depot .... TERRO ...
https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/terro-ready-to-use-home-insect-kill...
***********************************************************
This one is a concentrate and makes several gallons ... if you are quick
enough you can use a garden sprayer on the end of a water hose to
spray the barn down ..
I usually keep horses out of the barn all day or all night for this stuff to
dry .. no fumes or anything ... just my personal precaution ..
This one can be mixed up by the gallon with a few cc's to make a great
on the horse fly spray.. use a shot syringe to measure ... no more bot
or horse flies .... just mist your horses is all you need to do ..
I buy it from Jeffers ...

Both Works in your house or garage etc ..

| Keeping pests out from the barn requires a lot of efforts. By practicing proper sanitation, a barn owner can keep pests like bugs/spiders out of the barn. By using different suitable insecticides or flycatchers, pests infestation can be controlled. Also, if the infestation rises, it becomes important to consult the exterminators in Sacramento to help with the extermination process that will also not harm anyone. |

I have wondered about those. Do they seem to bother your dogs or horses?
I have a little spray bottle that I put water and peppermint oil in and that helps with the spiders and sometimes the mice but they are pretty stubborn. I have used apple cider vinegar as well and that seems to keep the mice away too but once the smell goes away they come right back.
Once it cools off, I will go back to setting my mouse traps. We use taffy and right now it's hot enough they can pull it off without setting the traps. |
