Anything with a lot of COW in them!!! Specifically foundation and cutting bloodlines. These are my favorite to train and compete on. Usually they are super hard workers, don't give you any fuss, and PUSH style. |

Exactly what he said! Especially the cutters. They get down! Depends on the horse though, when it comes to "fuss"... |

| I have a gelding out of Captain Perks, he will not run by a barrel and wants to turn. If there is a single barrel out for drills and I get within 20’ of it he will try to go and turn it. I had another one like that too, Gun Rippin Cowboy |

I have a Trace of Frost mare who is the same way. She'll turn it out from under you if you aren't paying attention and it's within range. |

| What about the DTF's? Isn't this what makes them such a phenominal barrel line? All that speed with the desire to turn, hard and fast? |

| I ride what ever right now all running bred my stud was a son of Special Leader but my mare I am riding is a Royal Quick Dash and I ride several from both these lines. They want to turn always have . I have rode cow breds they were not any more turny than these those. My Special Leaders really want to work I just have a few that are actually competing and my Royal Quick Dash mare eats the barrels up and is fast sub 17 on a standard. Here is her picture after a big slip, she still got us a 1D check. I had to share love her and her gritty ways.

Location: North Dakota | Ya know, I'm training a 12-year-old right now who just started pulling some checks in the 4D and creeping into the 3D. He's still learning what all this "running" business is but DANG does he turn. I let him run into the arena for the first time last weekend and he was a bit squirrly until he saw that first barrel and then locked on and went. It was so cool! He's going to be a nice little horse when he's finished out, even if he never makes it to the 1D. My other two horses, I don't feel that they "lock on" like he does. Sure, they know the barrels are there and know what to do, but it's just not that same feeling.
But he doesn't really have anything special on his papers. Goes back (eventually) to Doc Bars and Peppy San Badger on the top, and (eventually) back to Three Bars on the bottom. But he's sure been fun! VERY push style. And looks for those barrels.

Location: Georgia | Awesome, thanks for all the replies. I def have some research to do. Ive had a bullys on fire before and he probably had my favorite turn to date. So natural and quick! Thanks what I need!! I can get a horse to run but I need it to turn efficiently on its own apparently lol |
