bbennington - 2018-10-12 10:56 AM I have two standard size Goldendoodle. I absolutely love these dogs, great with kids, very easy to train and very very smart dogs. I can’t testify to the mini doodles but we love ours. My best advice is make sure they have all their testing done and if you are interested because of the low shedding make sure you are buying a 2 nd generation and the coat is not smooth. Since they are not purebred dog there tends to be a variety of coat types. Good Luck!
Again, a Goldendoodle is a Golden Retriever bred to a standard sized poodle. Large dog and large dog.
Yes I’m aware of that. Just stating what I have. I personally don’t like mini anything including horses but she didn’t ask for my opinion.
LOL I knew you were aware of that, you are the one who bought the dog and it sounds like you did your research well before purchasing.
I was just stating it for anyone reading the thread so they would know.

I have a question & thought. My question is How can you do genetic testing on a mutt ? IMHO, you can't. My thoughts are, golden retrievers & yes I love them dearly have a serious cancer gene. A reputable golden breeder does a lot of testing on their breeding's. No reputable golden breeder would ever breed for a Goldendoodle. Standard poodles & goldens can have hip problems. So why would anyone cross the 2 ? Why, to make a buck & I am so against people breeding a mutt to make a buck. $1200 for a mutt !! That is insane. Go to the shelter & rescue a mutt. These designer breeders are another form of puppy mill breeders. I am glad you love your goldendoodles, but I know of someone who has one & the dog is a mess. In other words it is aggressive with other dogs.

I didnβt comment on this post to have to defend why I own Goldendoodles, just share a few tip on what I learned when I bought my doodles. You donβt know what I paid for my dogs or the reason why I decided on the breed. Yes some breeder put huge price tags on them but you have that in any dog breed.

Thank you for your positive reply. There have been some input that seems worthless and basically nasty. Happy to hear you like your Goldendoodle and have had positive experience.
