| Hi - Can anyone give me some info on how to run in a PRCA rodeo? I do not have a permit or ever competed in One. I run NBHA only. However we have a rodeo coming to my hometown next year and I’d really like to compete in it. What’s would I need to do to run in a PRCA rodeo? I know I need to pay a membership but not certain of how the permit and rookie part of it works? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

| As you mentioned, you must have a WPRA membership as a permit holder. At that point, you can enter any wpra sanctioned rodeo that accepts permits. So if your hometown rodeo accepts permits, you can enter. Then, once you've filled your permit with enough winnings to get your pro rodeo card, you get your card. Then you can enter any wpra sanctioned rodeo, except rodeos that are limited to certain specified qualifications (unless you meet those specs). |

| If you are only going to run at your local rodeo, I would say forget it. It would be a very expensive endeavor for just one rodeo. A new membership is $325 and the entry fee is probably about $100. |

| I figured it’d be expensive. :( I guess to make it worth my while I need to consider competing other PRCA rodeos. Thanks for the info. :) |

You might go to the WPRA website and look up your circuit director’s contact info. Call her and talk to her about cost of buying a permit, etc. she can give you a better idea if it might work for you. She’ll also know off the top of her head, which rodeos in your circuit take permits. |

Location: SE KS | and don't be surprised if you get drawn up in slack - you also have to enter thru procom to get entered. You will need to pay attention when the books open and the books close.
Good Luck!\ |

Location: Kansas | Some smaller rodeos will let hometown girls run an exhibition at the end of the perf. You'd have to talk to the committee. |
