Today is
Ground are soaked here in georgia and turn out is SUPER limited at my house (they spent yesterday and today in stalls).
My barefoot horses are okay in their mud turnout, but my shod horses always get mud and small rocks packed like balls in their feet The mud can be up to 5” deep and I don’t have anywhere else to put them when it’s raining like this for weeks at a time
Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I tried duct tape but that got sucked right off. Any other ideas?
I don't have advice, but I feel your pain on the mud. . . . One end of our barn is probably 16 inches deep in spots . It's a nightmare . Looking for new place to move them before next winter
The only cure is to have a concrete feeding floor. At least you don't have to fight over 2 ft of snow and cold and then have to go thru a month of mud.
