Anyone have certain lunging aids you like to help collect a young horse & to use hind end? I saw the equi ami, but the different models look confusing to me and quite pricey. I have an off the track 4 year old thats been sittjng a while,  looking for advice on which aid to buy. Thanks!

I love a good set of long lines, neck stretch and/or side reins. I used these on my gelding to build up his top line and I start all colts on the long lines. My friend has the possoa set and they are nifty but confusing to use and expensive. she isnt has handy with the long lines so its perfect for her but I feel i get the same results using long lines.

I take two polo wraps, tie them to the rings of a snaffle bit or halter, then run the polos under the armpits then tie them together over the withers (like how you would bit up a horse). Then just drive their hind end up under them. Make the polos long enough that they ONLY engage when the horse lifts their head up, and they release when the horse's head is in the right position. Constant pressure accomplishes nothing and dulls your horse.

Would you happen to have a pic of this? I have 8 or 9ft polos, would this length work?

I like to just toss down some ground poles. Keeps them paying attention and thinking where their legs are at when they have something to lunge over. If they are all strung out it usually gets that hind end up over them when they trip over them a few times.
