I am not new, but I set up a new account because I dont want any names out there. Here is my situation. I have sent a horse to a fairley big name trainer. I have used him before, and was happy. It was anout 10 12 years ago. I took a well broke, started 5 year old to him prepaid for several months. Prior to leaving, we had agreements in writing on what was expected, videos, current concerns, etc... A week later I began calling to just check on my colt. Nothing. I texted, nothing...I knew cell service qas a problem so I ignored the knott in my stomach and waited. Called, texted... Nothing. I am about close to 1000 miles away. At the 1 month point I am trying not to panic but turn into a private detective and start some recon. Remember a woman I met at the barn. And after more recon send a message on facebook asking if this is her. She answers Yes. My Colt is fine, doing great he is amazing blah blah. Next day I get a random text from a farrier that was a month old. I blindly paid it. I am told his phone is broken, he is trying to get it fixed. Then at 6 qeeks I get a video. Looks a tiny bit farther than what he was 6 weeks earlier and Im being generous. More time, more phone calls, texts, only contact is this random woman. I contact the Farrier and ask that the next time he is there, I need photos of all 4 feet before and after (I can identify markings) Farrier is great and complys. After much begging at 9 weeks I get another set of 3 videos (all same day). A little better a lot faster, if you know what I mean. My heart sank a little more. Then a phone call OMG, what is going on, Im so sorry blah blah, family illnes blah blah going to take him to a show this weekend (that qas the point of him being there, he was supposed to be hauled and ridden). That was a month ago, no answering calls, or returning calls, no retuening texts...not been off the property as best as I can tell. I get a text from random woman saying he is going to run the colt on a certain weekend. Send $000.00 make the check out to Trainer. Ummm, well, I havent seen a video in 6 weeks, I havent heard of a jackpot or a little show or anything, can you have him call me. So, I do some more recon and find the show and confirm. She says yes thats it. I ask is there a deadline? I need to talk to him first? No, no deadline. I notice the deadline listed is a week ago and the fee is $25 MORE than they are asking for without a late fee. So now Im really smoking. I ask all those questipns to this RANDOME WOMAN AND ONLY CONTACT. She says Oh, he wasnt going to show him. Just haul him and exhibition him some. I will add I do have google maps, its an hour from his barn. I said HE ISNT GOING TO ENTER HIM??? Oh no. My reply was Yeah, no. Leave him home. Im good. But Im still 1000 miles away, and I wasnt planning my trip for 3 weeks. I want him home now. I am angry, hurt and a lot worried about my horse. I am kind of sure a couple people w9ll know who I am and who this is. I dont want to push it until I have my boy back. But I know I wont get my money back...I dont care. I want him back asap. I have NO WAY to reach this "trainer" at this point other than this woman and right now Im too angry and upset to do that. I feel stupid and stupider. This is typed on my phone and I can not see the whole screen, Im sorry for typos. Im teyong to correct them as I go. |
