Anyone ride the BTR and Stingray? Which did you like best

I *think* someone told me the BTR rides like the FX3. I had an FX3 a while back but it was a 10.5” gullet and I literally felt like I was straddling a rhino. It was not comfortable and made my hips hurt. And I didn’t notice it helping me  stay on my pockets or anything.

I was told, and the guy could have just been trying to make a sale, but the BTR is supposed to Martin's version of a Double J... It did feel pretty similar on the rack, but I felt like my Pozzi Pro had a deeper seat. But then again, it was just on a rack.

I traded in my stingray for a BTR. The stingray was really secure with an extremly tall cantle and pommel. I felt like it locked me in from the hips down which I didn't like. It also had a 9" gullet which was uncomfortable for me, it felt like I was straddling a barrel. The stingray was too wide for my mare and rolled terribly as well. I think if you are looking for something super secure you'd love the stingray. I like a hard/flat seat and the ability to be a little free-er when I ride. Its all preference.

I liked the BTR better to answer your question. :

It reminds me a lot of a Double J pro without the super forward stirrups.

I had an FX3 and it threw me forward a bit. It reminded me of a crown c, it wanted me to tilt forward on my pelvis. My BTR keeps me more on my pockets. They were very different saddles in my opinion.
