Are all those horses homozygous for black and roan or working your way to that? 

I bred to a homozygous roan stallion last year with a EE, Aa mare.  She's getting really big but she's got a ways to go before she foals.

LOL yes his 2 very blue parents had a red foal. We don't color test our stock we just breed for pedigree & disposition & take what ever color we get. We do have lots of roans because our old senior sire is a 100% roan producer, he is 20 this year so over the years we have collected a lot of roans.

And neither parent has any white on them

LOL that's what I say. Everyone is color testing now only breeding for certain colors I like it much better the old way, being suprised. I say having foals is like finding Easter eggs you never know what color you will find. Maybe that's because I'm old and stuck in my ways.... but I like the old ways

It just ain't fair to the rest of us to have a herd consistently that pretty. . .
