Location: Bastrop, Texas | Well, guess what. The NBA has just set a historic trend. NBA commissioner has informed the media that team owners will no longer be called “owners”, even though they do actually own the team. No....from now on they will be addressed as “Governors”. Why? Ostensibly, using the term “owner” conjures up traumatic imagery of slaves toiling in the fields owned by plantation “owners” over 150 years ago. Political correctness has deemed the use of the term traumatic and offensive, so use of the term, “Governor” is now forbidden in the NBA. Of all the things we, as a society, have to be concerned about, evidently this is near the top of the list. Come to think of it, I am an “owner” as well, so from now on I must request that you address me as “Governor Harris”. You too can expect to be called “Governor” if you are the owner of property or a business or heck, even a horse or a dog. I have to go now. Willie Brown is a carpenter and he owns his business. He’s dropping by to give me an estimate on some work. Oh, and I’m going to address him as “Governor Brown”. He’s going to like that, no doubt. I’m starting to like this identity politics and political correctness stuff. |

Maybe they have too much time on their hands and they need to pick some cotton or tabacco so they have less time to think. << Yes that was insensitive. Ask me if I give a sh*t about it. |

Meanwhile, it’s OK for the government to own my ass in perpetuity. You can be debt free, yet you are NEVER ever completely debt free. You can own your home outright for years, yet you still owe the government a payment on your home every single year. In essence all the “owners” are owned. We are all workin’ fo da man whether we realize it or not. We are all owned. At least the title of “Governor” makes me feel better. |

Location: Arkansas | If we're honest y'all----you KNOW this is waaaaay more important than border issues or possible wars or veterans being homeless. . . Maybe these governors will step up and pay the reparations certain groups are calling for. Or even these millionaire players that aren't "owned" anymore. Out of appreciation of being "freed" you understand. Please know my eyes are rolling around something terrible. . . |

I think the governors are already paying reparations. These players get millions of dollars and get out of jail free cards. |

But not as important as getting those dastardly criminals, Jussie Smollett and Lori Laughlin, off the mean streets. Gotta have focus!! Can't let a little righteous indignation get in the way of real progress. |
