How come Nellie Miller and Shali Lord weren't co champions?

Is that a Cheyenne rule? They both made amzing runs in the short go.

The tiebreaker rule takes into account the go rounds.  That's what was explained to me anyway.

Because the ground rules states: if there is a tie - the one with the fastest run in the qualifier will get the championship title.

So Nellie had the faster time.

So what happens with the $$$ won?  If the ground rules stated that the tie breaker is whomever had the fastest qualifying run why did this change?

It was discovered that they had no ground rules for a tie in the barrel race. Shali was announced as the co champion and they are ordering awards for her too.

There were no rules for a tie in the barrel race. I’m assuming they’ll split 1 and 2 prize money between the two.

That's too bad for Shali to have been excluded during the Awards then.

likely a once in a lifetime event and they forked her because they didn't know their own rules.

I saw it posted on Facebook somewhere that they are now considered Co-Champions.  The announcement at the rodeo did not follow the written rodeo requirements or something like that.  I hope so.
