Does anyone on here have any info on this long yearling? I heard High Point was possibly going to stand him next year. I am in love with his breeding, and for a yearling he doesn’t look too shabby- I can’t wait to see him in a year or so    I am curious to know more!

Neat cross.

I can't help but wonder what the future of breeding will be like when most of the stallions are by top studs, out of a handful of the same great mares. Outcrosses will be really important.

Looks like a big bet on Kiss My Hocks.

With one foal crop that’s of racing age (2yo), KMH’s PE are already over $500,000. I think this stallion prospect is a gold mine (on paper anyway). KMH’s stud fee is a bit higher than what most barrel horse sires stand for, so by breeding him to one of the most well known barrel mares and (luckily) getting a stud colt, I think this stallion will be in high demand (Stingray and KMH lovers unite!). But as always, with horses anything can go wrong. Let’s hope he makes a big name for himself.

I think outcrosses are already important- if you look at some of the sales, there’s already close up double and triple bred foals and prospects out there. Linebreeding when it works, inbreeding when it doesn’t. I realize KMH is double bred DFC, so I wouldn’t breed him to a mare that has DFC in her lineage, but that’s just me. Obviously I am in the minority and there’s people that make a lot of money breeding that way.

He may be just the ticket...or he may be like lots of other big race horses.  Either way, I'll let them use their money to prove him rather than mine.

You are right on that point, although I’m guessing they didn’t have to pay full price (lucky ducks...)
