I was talking to a shoer bout a week ago and he was telling me that he does the basically the 4 point shoeing or barefoot trim.  I have never heard of this and was wondering what your experience was with this?  I did look on google of course and see pro and cons so now Im asking for personal experience  Thanks  and if you did this or do this was there a problem you was trying to fix?

4 point shoeing is a type of foot mapping to balance the foot before the shoe is put on, the shoe should be shaped  to fit the foot after it’s balanced. It’s a good program.

The shoer should be able to show you and explain how he does the 4 point trim. If he just tells you that’s what he does, but can’t show you, that would be a red flag.
