I'd probably pour it back in the bag if possible and return it. I've done it before when I dumped a bag into the barrel and discovered it was plum full of weevils.... those suckers are hard to get rid of once they get in your feed room! I scooped it all out into the bag and put it in the back of my truck and took it right back to the store, they replaced it immediately and were full of apologies. |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | Mine tapes torn bags and doesn't charge for them. As long as it looks ok I still use it. But staples is a whole different story. I would think that would be very dangerous if one was to get into the feed and you didn't notice it. I would be pretty upset. |

Location: "Si Fi" Ville | I was so upset. I can’t see well because I’m going blind in both eyes and if I hadn’t cut my hand on the feed sack I wouldn’t have found it. Then I would have fed it to all six horses. |

Location: CTX | I would do what a previous poster said, scoop it back into the bag and return to store. Only last weekend I bought 2 bags of alfalfa/oat cubes only to find a bunch of bugs in the first one I opened that night.... So back to the store we went the next day. They refunded me the money without any issues. But that is not the issue I would be upset about.... the staples are a huge nono for me! I know a bag can rip, and I'd understand them taping up the bag. But putting staples in them.... nope.... that person needs a good talking too about safety! Like you said, if you would have fed it to the horses one or more of them could have been seriously hurt because of that! Not to sound mean, but I am glad you got cut your hand on one of them, at least it made you aware of the situation! |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Take it back, and let who ever used staples to put this bag back together did a BAD THING, the store owners need to know. Tape as in Duck tape is what all stores use if they have a bag that is rip. Who ever did this didnt know what the heck they were doing as in putting a horses health at risk.. |

How many bags did you buy that were stapled? |

Location: "Si Fi" Ville | 2 bags were stapled. The first one was stapled at the bottom, so I didn’t see it, and poured it into my 55 gallon barrel. It was last night when I unloaded the feed. I poured in 5 undamaged sacks on top of that then went to put the last one and that’s when a staple cut my hand. Then I started looking in the feed barrel and I saw the staples. And then I started going thru the sacks and I realized there was another and it was on the bottom of the sack pile so it went in the barrel first. Therefore I don’t know how many are actually still in it. |

Are staples made of steele I wonder? if they are I would get a magnet and see if you find anymore once you scoop the feed out into your buckets. |

Nay, nay, they would take both bags back and also pay for my band aid/pain/suffering for the staple boo boo. . . Seriously, hope you got all the staples and that your horses are all good |
