| I’ve realized I need some new stirrups, my feet go numb after riding awhile and I have ankle pain from having to keep my feet turned outwards. I ride in just plain old aluminum stirrups right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should get? I’ve seen slanted and twisted stirrups and I’m not sure about what exactly they’re good for!!

I'm thinking these are one of my Christmas presents!!! We know the Orrell family well, and I REALLY want a pair of Mr Don's stirrups. |

| I ride in Kroes feet and like them well enough not to look for something else - if that makes sense. My knees and ankles don’t hurt but I’m not sure I’d buy another pair I guess. I’ve tried knock off twisted ones and I didn’t love them. So if you go that route go for the real deal. |

| SA Walls Offset-Slanted helped me out a lot. Foot surgeries made it a bear to ride and only occasionally does my foot go numb if the ankle I twisted is being a bear. |

| I'm sort of fond of the Tough 1 Slanted stirrups. They're cheaper and they have the waffle rubber foot pads, not the ones with the ridges. I can't hardly ride in reg stirrups anymore. One thing on the numbness though, your hips might be out and something pinching to cause the numbness. |

My vote is the Orrell Stirrups. (I remember when Don was a little boy and would stumble out to the barn very early, barefoot, to water all the horses. He got very mad at me one day when I rode his dad's great mare Marbo McCue (what a thrill). While in high school, I had a cutting horse and rode with my cousins in the summers.) Don's stirrups are awesome. Call him and he will work with you to get your the right stirrup to help you with you issues. |

Don't want to steal the thread, but yes mam, they're a great family. We've spent more time with Mr Jimmy and Lewis, but I loved talking with Mr Don and his wife at the 2014 Futurity about their business. (And I'm jealous you got to ride MM--wow!!!) |
