Do we have any dealers here? Today my horse was diagnosed with chronic laminitis :-(  the vet put some soft rides on him and it made a world of difference! After xrays and blocking he told me to put the horse in some soft rides and stall rest for 30 days. I spent a small fortune this afternoon at the vets and couldn't swing the extra $230 for their soft rides. So .. I looked on the soft ride website they are a little less but wont be shipping out anything till after January 6th! I cant wait that long. I am looking for some used or cheaper deals on some but haven't had much luck yet!

You can only buy from Soft Rides website, they dont have any dealers, unless you buy from a vet that keeps them on hand.. They dont have any special deals on them either, they are all 195.00 unless its a special size that you are needing.. I love my Soft Rides that I bought year befor last, the company is so good to work with, I called them when I had a sizing problem and they walked me threw it. I will be buying another pair from them when this pair is worned out but that will be a long time from now since they are so well made. I think theres a used Soft Rides facebook, try looking it up.

Yep, its going to be alot faster if you buy from your vet, and since they do have his size I would just bite the bullet and buy them, Jan. 6 is a long way away when you really need them in a hurry. And then you have to wait at least another 2 maybe 3 days of shipping. When I did buy my Soft rides it took maybe two days to get them and they were for my gelding that was Laminitis also. They sure did makes a big difference.

Our newest guy we bought for my daughter to learn to rope on. He came up really sore a few days ago .. just suddenly... like barely able to walk. Had my farrier out, he was down the road at my neighbors so I grabbed him and he came and looked at him for me, I was out of bute so he gave me some to hold me over till we could get to the vet. Good news is, very VERY minimal rotation,  vet said little to none so we caught it early and are treating him accordingly. Farrier is coming back next week to do some corrective trimming vet discussed with him over xrays.. I changed his feed up to the lowest NSC I could get and now soaking his hay before he gets it. Hes also on thyro-L and I'm giving him bute. Poor guy has to be stalled for 30 days. I've got to take him back Monday for a fasted blood test for cushings and IR ...  I wouldn't have ever thought cushings but with this happening so randomly like this vet wants to rule it out. I feel terrible. I shouldn't have ever changed his feed... the vet and my farrier told me that probably wasnt what caused it and to stop beating myself up over it.. farrier told me he suspects this horse had it already it just flared up... but yet again,  I feel it's my fault for changing... sigh... I hope the old guy will be ok and make a recovery.. vet seems to think we can get him back to roping after we get this under control. So mr porky is on a strict diet and stall rest ... two of his least favorite things! Anyway.. I found some EasyBoot Clouds that a friend of a friend will let me borrow, they both told me they are better than the soft rides ... I've never used anything like that so i dont really know.. i just want to see him in less pain. The clouds are significantly less expensive and so I'm surfing the web researching them. Coming right off of Christmas and both my kids baseball dues are due on the first ... ugh.. I got gut punched with this vet bill today! It's never a convenient time for a vet bill anyway!

Oh... and our television just decided to die on us this evening lol!!  I kinda dont care but still, it's just one of those things that I could have done without having to replace right now. Soooo I'm eating ice cream, I added extra chocolate chips to it because this is my pity party lol! I keep peeking out my window and seeing my horse just standing there pouting because he hates soaked hay and he hates being stalled.

I was afraid it was your new guy. . . Please don't beat yourself up; you and the vet and farrier are gonna get this all figured out and he's gonna be on the mend in no time.  Prayers for him and his comfort

Oh yes, it sure does! I'm just glad it's not worse as it could be. I was really thinking it was a joint issue because I had him stalled a little more frequently lately due to weather and he always seemed to get stocked up and stiff... he had done this before but after cold hosing him and poultice he went back to totally normal for a few months ... roping and riding daily with zero issue. He also didnt budge with hoof testing from my farrier and also at the vet today but obviously that isnt an indication nothing's amiss.. he is more comfortable this evening than he was yesterday,  thanks to the extra bute.. now just need some boots for him! Thank you for the sweet well wishes

Jeffers carries Easy Boot Clouds, and they have 10% off for the new year.  Not a huge savings, but it helps.  Code is "new20".

Thank you! Yes, every little bit helps!!! I could purchase the new clouds for about the same as I'm seeing used soft rides that are pretty beat up looking. Plus the clouds come with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee if I'm not happy with them I can return them. I kinda like the clouds smooth surface on the gel inserts that forms to the hoof, I'd think that would be more comfortable but who knows... they have really good reviews and positive feedback.

I was blessed to have found a brand new set of soft rides for $185 shipped from a friend of friend who reached out to me. Theyll be here in a few days! My boy is looking a little better this morning.  He can get around a tad better but still touchy... I know those boots will make all the difference for his comfort. Hes bedded down with lots of soft shavings, I see him resting his back foot so hes doing better! I never ever would have considered him being a picky eater but hes not quite sure about this feed... hes not enthusiastic like he normally is at feed time... could be the grain or the 2 scoops of Thyro-l I have to give him. I'm mixing just a handful of his old sr in with the new stuff to entice him but hes no dummy. He choose to eat his soaked hay over his grain this morning but he went back and finished his feed eventually.

Totally! He was upset with me last night because I put the bute IN his feed he went on a 15 minute hunger strike but eventually gave in. Tonight I just put the paste directly in his mouth and then i fed him, he was a lot more happy with his feed pan and ate it all up immediately. He wore his BOT wraps today for about 45 minutes and the swelling in his legs went completely away, so yay! He stocks up in his stall but its drs orders to stay put! I cant wait to get those boots here!

I have to have come to the good Lord meetings occasionally with some of ours when they get picky about their supplements!!!   I use the "it's for your own good/you need this" speech--for what it's worth!!

Glad he's feeling better cause I know that makes you feel better too
