Currently I am an LVN and make pretty decent money around 50K a year. But I am not happy in my job and want to look into other options. I would like to still be a nurse, but not sure what else than floor nursing I can do as an LVN. I would love to go back to school, but not being able to work full time at the moment isn't an option. Any ideas from possibly fellow nurses? I live in Texas.

U need to go back to school and become an RN if u like the nursing piece. There are a lot of programs that are LVN to RN, u can do some of it online. Do some research about available programs and good luck.

I'm a hospice RN and we have LVNs that assist us with patient care. You can either find a company that has an inpatient unit or drive and see patients in facilities and homes. It's a lot of wear and tear on vehicles, but its rewarding and I prefer working on my own. And I work mostly Monday through Friday 8-5ish. So hospice is always an option. (:

I have a young friend who graduated as an RN but finished her BS online. Many hospitals in TX will pay for your education. I know several who have advanced. One is a nurse practitioner. Listen, I am so proud of my yong friends who have gone into nursing and taken classes to advance. Get on the wagon and go with them. Good luck. 

Honestly if I went back to school at this point it probably wouldn’t be for nursing. I have an associates in general studies prior to getting my LVN, but I don’t have much drive to go school to further my education for a field I already feel burnt out in 

It doesn't sound like you like your job, or nursing itself, to me.  You didn't mention anything you actually like about your work, besides the decent pay.  To my way of thinking, you are off to a good start, and I'm not being facetious.  You are being honest and admitting you are burned out.  I think the secret to both happiness and success is to find something you really love....something about which you feel passionately.  The next challenge is to figure out a way to make it work for you.  You have some serious soul searching to do, but finding that one thing that you really love is going to be your first big challenge.
