Location: Kansas / South Dakota | I have recently added Renew Gold to our hard keeping seniors feed (along with alfalfa cubes, Purina Senior and Forco), and we've had great luck! I prefer to keep the barn on the same "brand" of feed, and am kicking around switching the two that I run barrels and rope on to RG from Bluebonnet Total Advantage. I've been happy with Bluebonnet, but it would be much simpler to only have to go to one feed store to get everyone taken care of. That being said: Those who have fed Renew Gold to their performance horses, how did they do on it compared to other feeds? Has anyone switched from Bluebonnet (how did they compare)?? Did you feed JUST Renew Gold, or did you add anything else? Do they NEED anything else (besides roughage/hay obviously)?? |

Location: Willows, CA | Sherry Cervi feeds 1.5 pounds of Renew Gold, no grain or other calorie additives and good hay. Ivy Conrado Saebens feeds 1 to 1 1/2 pounds of Renew Gold Senior or original depending on the horse, no grain based feeds and good hay. Dena Kirkpatrick feeds 1 1/2 pounds of Renew Gold Senior and no additional grain. Keep teeth good and feed good hay. You should not need any additional grain based feeds. Win

 Nothing Comes Easy

Location: Texas | I fed Renew Gold a few years ago, and then switched to Bluebonnet while breeding. Terrible decision. Two of my horses couldn't handle the processed feed and I was pouring feed into two with little result. Since switching back to Renew Gold a year ago, my two stopped getting gassy and colicky. My 19 year old mare has gained weight and is getting less feed. And my show mare looks amazing! I feed coastal, Renew Gold and alfalfa pellets. Only thing in my feeding program that changed was the BB to Renew Gold. Alfalfa pellets and coastal remained consistent with the change. |

| I had my performance mare on it and she does amazing. I competed on her on it for 2 years. I only switched when I gave her 2 years off to be bred. She needed the extra nutrients and calories for the foal. But, as soon as he was weaned she went back on it, and looks great and feels great! She's on 1.5lbs RG, 2lbs soaked alfalfa cubes and free choice timothy orchard hay. |

| I feed 1 1/2 lbs Renew Gold Senior and 3 flakes alfalfa a day with turn out 6 to 8 hours a day. Was feeding Purina Gastric Care but my mare still got ulcers. Stayed body sore. Since changing to Renew Gold Senior there has not been any issues. And Renew Gold Senior has added joint support. I do add Forco on top of the Renew Gold Senior. I also feed sea salt and Grow Strong Minerals. I have also fed Blue Bonnet Omega Force and their Senior. No comparison on how they look and feel . Glad I changed.

Location: CTX | Been feeding Renew Gold for years now. All 4 get 1lb per day. With forco, and cubeits. They are on a small pasture with a round bale on it. Only the broodmare gets rice bran added to that to keep her from showing her ribs.

It is my favorite feed and probably always will be. I have tried switching to other things over the years and always regret it. My IR fatty doesn’t need the extra calories but I give him a little under a cup a day to make his supplements more enticing. My ottb was nearly emaciated when I adopted him in August. He has been on 1lb/day of renew gold and literally looks like a different horse. He goes insane if he gets any grain or sugar (which are also terrible for his ulcers) so I love that RG gives him the nutrition and calories he needs without making him hot or bothering his tummy :) also fwiw my husband loves the renew gold treats. He eats them himself when he comes to the barn lol. |

I always taste anything my horses eat (supplements, treats, feed etc), and I have to admit I may have eaten more than one of the RG treats |

I knew I couldn't be the only one to do that! I love those treats and often take a nibble of one before I give the goobers theirs! |

When Sean saw me "taste testing" and raised his eyebrows, I told him I'd read the bag and your posts so I felt perfectly safe eating them . Plus they were dang good! |

| I have a senior that I want to supplement with renew gold. He is currently getting primarily purina senior. How much renew gold should I add for maximum benefit? He also gets alfalfa pellets to snack on, but he doesn't eat much of that. He doesn't care for anything soaked and will not eat it. I am open to suggestions. Thank you! |

If the horse is retired, 1/2 pound of RG Senior per day added. If you are still using him, call me and we can go over the entire program. 530 518 8254 is my direct number. Happy to help if I can. Win |

| Thank you for the responses. He is fully retired. He is 30 years old. He eats some alfalfa leaves and chews on Bermuda but spits most of it out. I gave him a handful of Renew Gold in his senior tonight and he dove in with gusto. His weight is decent, I just want to keep it that way. |
