Didn't Panther Mountain go to Brazil?

This is who we were wondering about! We cannot find anything on Panther Mountain. I wasn't sure if he had died or if he went to Brazil.

Panther Mountain was sold to Brazil in 2008.

Brisco County Jr, Plain Eye Opening both went. Brazil doesn’t have the veterinarian medicine that we do. Nor the surgical facilities. It seems like they have a lot more diseases there too. I’m pretty sure

Royal Quick Dash went there.

Holland Ease did double time here and in Brazil.

Excuse my ignorance,  but why is it that these outstanding studs are having a hard time staying alive once they leave? And why are they going there anyway?

A lot of these horses that we heard of dying in Brazil were not exactly young when they were sold and shipped. If you are tracking horses that are 18+ years or older and their death rates it's always going to be higher even if they were being sold within the US. Holland Ease, Dash For Perks - not exactly "spring chickens". It's not very good business to buy high dollar horses and ship them only to have them die within months.

On The Money Red went there too.  Doubt he's still alive.  He could barely walk after being there only a short time.

OTMR died of cancer at danny's. Designer Red was the one who went to brazil. Yes I saw that video of him & it made me sick. Made me sick that danny sold him to. Personally I would of kept that horse forever. But some people care more about a buck than I do

A story I hate......Ferdinand won the Kentucky Derby in 1986 with Willie Shoemaker on board.  It was a masterful race.  Ferdinand was sold to a Japanese interest,  shipped to Japan, and after he lost his usefulness went to a slaughterhouse.  Keep these great horses America.

That's why I hate that California Chrome went to Japan.

California Chrome's sale contract included a clause that he will return to the USA to live out his retirement. A lesson was definitely learned due to the Fernindand slaughter experience.

They definitely don't put the horse's interests first, futuritying them as three year olds, for example, so could the treatment of their horses be different down there?
