| Just wanting to know if anyone uses Turmeric for their horses. If so, what brand, is it powder or pellets, do you think it helps with pain, muscle soreness, etc.? |

Location: Illinois | I can't say for horses, but I started taking it myself a little over a month ago. I don't hurt as much when I get out of bed in the morning. I used to feel like I got hit by a semi in my sleep. Its reduced considerably. Thats the only thing thats changed. I'm on week 5 now, what I read said it takes 6-8 weeks to see full results. Its also one of the main ingredients in that NRF2 "magic pill" everyone used to swear by. As far as horses go I haven't tried it for mine, I have them all on Exceed 6 Way so their needs should be fully covered with that. But if you were interested MVP is running a special on their new Turmeric 2x, buy 6lb get 3lb free. It also includes Bioperine for maximum/proper absorption, something a lot of other brands lack. It also has MSM included as well |

Location: 31 lengths farms | I have used the "magic pill" Nrf2 for 3 or 4 years now. I fractured 3 vertabrae 10 years ago or so and had gotten to the point tht my left leg would go numb in left hand circles, my hips and back hurt so badly I could no longer bare to work out. It wasn't an over night magic thing that happened with the Nrf2, took about a month to notice slight chAnges, but I loved that I could sit myself up in bed in the morning, no longer had to wake my fiance up to get me upright . I am now able to load and unload a ton of hay by myself, I cAn squat down and stand back up with out having to use something near me to pull myself back up, my left leg no longer goes numb in left hand circles and I cAn get all 3 horses ridden in 1 day and not be couch bound the next day. I also use Tumeric/curumin based products on my horses. Cur-ost for my gelding who is 19 and has some navicular changes as well as for my mare who has kidney stones and an old stifle injury. I use it also on my mare with head shakers syndrome in the early spring and summer, then for whatever reason OE's Game Changer which also has Tumeric in is seems to work better for her Fall amd Winter, not sure if that proves her head shakers is allergy induced or what??? All I know is with out the Pure or the Game ChAnger depending on the season she is all but un rideable. At one time I couldnt' even put a halter on her due to the issues. |

What is the NFR magic pill?
Nrf2, Its also called the "little yellow pill." I really REALLY hate the advertising lines behind it, but it has a lot of positive reviews. I give 2 to Audie during the show season. We're had a spectacular past 2 years, but I throw so much at him to keep him sound and not body sore, it's hard to tell what all works. NRF2 is a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) protein that regulates the expression of antioxidant proteins that protect against oxidative damage triggered by injury and inflammation. Several drugs that stimulate the NFE2L2 pathway are being studied for treatment of diseases that are caused by oxidative stress. |
