| Heres the thing... I'm FINALLY seeing the results on him ... slimming down wise... he was FAT with a cresty neck ... it's gotten so much better and hes looking good... coat seems a tad dry tho... I'm wanting something that'll benefit that without extra calories, too many anyway.... I was feeding chia seeds but gosh almighty they are expensive! He loves the ex factor feed and I'm still mixing up the rest of the fibre beet till it's all gone. | |

| I should probably just try to keep chia incorporated into his diet. It really is beneficial and I like the fact that it's just chia, nothing else added. Seems to pack a nutritional punch, more so than anything else comparable. It's easy to feed now... mixed in with the beet pulp but not sure how well it will mix in with just pellets (ex factor) I may just have to wet it or just suck it up and keep the little bit of beet pulp to mix in. Its literally about a 1 3/4 cup (dry) I soak and mix the ex factor with a 1/4 cup chia seeds in it makes it into a bit of a mash and he loves it. I wonder if I'll end up sprouting any chia in the pasture lol! https://uschia.com/pages/us-chia-benefits-for-horses | |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Since my gelding {Melvin} was dianosed with being IR I keep him on a simple diet and cut out all the extras that I was feeding him and the others and they are on just a pelleted feed along with Forgo. All Melvin gets now is his Triple Crown Lite, a handfull of alalfa nibblets,Forgo, twice a day, MVP Anti- Carb once a day and one flake of alflafa hay once a day along with his normal hay. The other two get BB Equilene Pelleted 1 and 1/2 lbs twice a day along with forgo and the alflafa nibblets, Show glo and I give Elevate vit. E along with their feeding, they get hay and of course pasture time for the two, the Mini's just get Triple Crown Lite with a dash of aflafa nibblets. I dont do any of the fancy stuff anymore like oils, seeds, the expensive supplements I cut all that out once I found out Melvins problem, I think now days its to easy to over load our horses systems with all the supplements and extras out there now, we are hurting our horses with love and kindness by buying this and that. I learned the hard way with Mel. I was so overwhelmed with all the different ways to feed I would buy the next best thing, lol. But not anymore just a pelleted feed from BlueBonnet and the simple supplements. ........But added to say Healthy Coat is a good product along with simple Calf Manna. If I ever feel like that something is missing these would be my go to depending on what I feel is needed.

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | And wanted to add that I think all of the Stride products are something to look at, they are all good supplements and dont cost a arm and a leg, very reasonable priced along with the MVP products..

I dont know how you keep track of all that lol! I'm only feeding 1 and I have to talk to myself when I mixing in this n that and I still almost always forget to thrown in a little table salt! But yes you're right it can get stupid expensive and overwhelming. My plan was to switch over to the ex factor from the fibre beet and all the extras I was having to add in. It's so easy to get sucked in to this supplement or that etc etc.... late nights on the internet when I was reading about laminitis and checking on chuy bout killed me and now I need glasses lol! I've got to finish feeding this custom mix I bought, that I'm sure i was emotionally talked into right after losing chew... I paid a lot for it so hes gonna finish it, by God! The ONLY thing the ex factor is missing is the omegas ... which I think has proved to be pretty important. He cant be turned out on grass all day because I suspect IR he will be tested as soon as I get him in next week for his annual stuff and coggins. I did get his grazing muzzle in yesterday but it's way too wet out in the pasture to turn him out so hes stuck in the small pen for now. I have a 5lb bucket of chia seeds I'll finish out and reevaluate after that .. but I'm still leaning towards the rewind for the O's it's easy and inexpensive

I have a 5lb bucket of chia seeds I'll finish out and reevaluate after that .. but I'm still leaning towards the rewind for the O's it's easy and inexpensive I know sometimes I have to stop and think about whos getting what since Melvin has to be fed a different feed with his Anti-carb so I just feed the ponys the same feed as Mel but not the extras since they are good to go. And the other two they get a cheaper feed since they dont have the same problem as Mel.. I just started the Forgo about 4 months ago and oh my goodness I love it and see a big difference in my pasture horses, they always looked great but the Forgo just topped it for me, so the Forgo is the new supplement I added and wont be adding anymore, I really dont need to be feeding the Sho-Glo but its just a habit now since I have been feeding it for years, I like the minerals it has. I'm trying really hard to NOT buy it anymore {Sho-Glo} but CANT stop, I just give it to Homer and Meno once a day, no body else gets it. Edited to add; I dont think you can go wrong with the Stride Rewind, I did use and really liked it but got to expensive to feed 4 horses for me.. So I just stayed with the Sho-Glo with the two and Mel gots to have the Anti-Carb, and Forgo I dont think I will never stop feeding that, its ta best in my books. Every body gets it..

| I got these delivered today. A sample of each of their blended chia seeds. I'm not much of a treat person but these are offered in loose chia packages too. I was curious how they taste because they smell so good! I tried a bite and they are delicious! My horse goes ape over these. I knew he would, hes not picky! http://gettyequinenutrition.biz/Products/pureformequinechia.htm
