| Are they effective and sturdy enough for turnout on a large pasture? I dont know about yall but the flies here are so bad right now. I mean horrible! I spray my horse and then turn him out... they are relentlessly attacking him. I have 3 different bottles of spray and none of them are helping much for very long. My horse loves to be out on the pasture ... I came home the other day and he was up in his stall... I leave his gate open so he can go in to get water if he wants.. he was parked in his stall! To avoid the flies ... it's a little better in there but they were still biting him. I was riding yesterday and checking the fences, my neighbors horses were up near the fence, their legs are bloody raw from the flies... my horse likes to hang near them and gets swarmed by flies ... I am thinking of trying the fly boots for him. Any brands recommended? So far on fly spray I use Tri tech, mosquito halt, and endure... none of which seem to be effective long term. I want to order B free of flies but I'm not sure when I'd be getting it at this point... same as the boots. But I need to do something. |

| Farnman makes a liquid they you spot on them in different places, that seems to work well, it is about $15 for 3 containers. |

| Shoofly's are probably the only thing I would trust in a big pasture setting. Highly recommend them. |

Location: Illinois | My horses are turned out 24/7 and the shoo flys are the only ones that last. They usually last me 1.5 years, but mine also go through heavy mucky mud a lot if its wet. They hold up longer if we have dryer seasons I keep ordering stuff the last couple days from SmartPak and StateLineTack and everything is still shipping as normal for now

| Hes really only out for 3-5 hours out there before I bring him up because he will get too fat on all the grass.. hes the only one on that pasture so it's very bountiful at the moment! But he has a decent run off his stall when hes up. The flies are bad up by the barn too but not nearly as bad when hes by those other horses |

Location: North Dakota | My horses run on over 40 acres with rolling hills, areas of deep grass, and water and Shoofly Leggings stayed on without any major issues. We had a VERY wet summer last year and I think I only lost a legging, twice, so my suggestion is to get the brightly colored ones in case one does happen to get pulled off; easier to find. |

| I watched a video on the shoo fly. It's so odd to me that the flies will not go down into the boot! I love the fact they are American Made, that's a huge plus to me. But pretty expensive, probably save myself a few bucks on fly spray though. |

| Actually, the shoofly are less expensive than some others I've looked at. They come in a 4pk when the others are just a 2pk. Im ordering today. I'm trying my best to support small family businesses right now. My dedicated Bluebonnet dealer is a little further for me than another bigger feedstore but I'm going to make the drive today and buy more feed, shavings, chicken feed and dog food from them. They took my order and payment over the phone and all I have to do is show up, back up to the dock and theyll load me up and I'll be on my way! |

| Agree that Shoo Fly boots are the best choice. Rarely come off but recommend a bright color just in case. Lots easier to find if needed. |
