My shoofly boots are a huge success! He walks funny but he seriously hasn't stomped once since I put them on. I'm so pleased with them. Now, hes getting bit on his body something fierce... leaving welts and his underside gets the worst of it.. swat only goes so far... he ends up rolling and then scratching his belly rubbing it off. So hubby said what about a fly sheet?! Now I know yall dont know my hubby, but when he actually suggests something for my horse, I jump on it immediately lol! Otherwise I just try to get things in and put in the barn before he notices lol lol!!! He doesn't get mad but it's just easier.... so  any suggestions on a good effective fly sheet that's obviously not too hot, we live in Texas and the heat can be brutal... hes not 24/7 turnout but I'd like something to help with the flies while hes out. Not looking to spend a small fortune. But fly spray is expensive and lord knows I've been going thru it.

I ended up getting this one last night from Performance Horse Blankets they were having a great sale!  It looks light and airy so hopefully itll be good!

Cashel Lightweight is by far the best I've come across.  Durable and breathable. I'm in Texas as well, sometimes it is too hot to have anything at all on them but this one is the one I've had the most success with.

I've used my new one finally for the first time yesterday. LOVE IT!  I've got to do some adjusting to the straps yet but he wore it all day in his run and it stayed put and he didnt seem agitated by flies especially on his belly wheres hes the most sensitive.  I really like the wide belly band on this blanket 

I can't use fly sheets where I live because it's too hot but....

I bought Coat Defense paste this winter for a filly that had scratches. It healed that up and I've since used it under bellies to keep gnats from eating my horses and it's working great!!!! I reapply every few days.
