A group of ungrateful people turned their noses up to God in pride, continually complaining against God and dissatisfied with His provision and protection. They entered their tents at night grumbling about their situation in life. The Lord's anger burned greatly against the people of Israel. They had betrayed Him and chosen to worship idols. They ere committing spiritual adultery against the Lord by bowing down to the false gods of Peor. God had had enough, and in just wrath, He poured out a plague upon the people,which killed twenty four thousand Numbers 25:1-13.  WOW! Don't you KNOW God feels betrayed by the way the world in today?? How we have allowed Him to be taken out of our schools, the Ten Commandments statue to be taken down, God out of the court rooms....think about it... we have NOT STOOD up God's glory.. 

However, in the midst of dissension was a great man of faith.  In the mist of this great plague was a man who was passionate about the Lord. He is seldom mentioned today, but he had a massive impact on the history of the Jewish people. HIs name was Phinehas. Phinehas was zealous for the GLORY OF GOD. He was appalled at the way the people of Israel had turned their backs on the ONE TRUE and LIVING God. He stood for the truth and the Lord honored him. God stopped the plague against Israel. We are ENCOURAGED by this great man of faith in the Old Testament. Like Phinehas, we MUST STAND FOR TRUTH OF GOD in the midst of rebellion. When there is grumbling against God in our homes, our churches, or our workplace, we MUST BOLDY STAND FOR THE LORD.   We must NOT ALLOW the culture or crowd to press us into its mold. Instead, by th Spriit's EMPOWERMENT we should HONOR GOD  PUBLICLY AND PASSIONATELY.  Which person are you? Are you the one who continually complains about your situation? Do you find critical attitude always displaying itself in your life? Or ar you like Phinehas, STANDING FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, REGARDLESS of outward circumstances?  Psalm 106:24-33.  Father God, guide me today to DO ALL things that will bring GLORY AND HONOR TO YOU AMEN for it is WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE Matthew 19:26
