Passed away at the age of 83.  Gonna miss that fiddle player.  Great entertainer.

Another great one gone

Met him several times--he was really good friends with a business associate of mine and would be at his house a lot. My friend managed the southern rock group The Outlaws and Charlie and him became friends back in the old days. To me, Charlie just seemed like a normal down to earth guy that could play a wicked fiddle. Walked into my friends office one time and Charlie was sitting there in Carharts with those rubber gummy boots over his shoes---looked like any of us would.
