Just a question.. had corrective shoeing done on my horse 2 weeks ago this coming Monday. He is in beginning stages of navicular and is a grade 1 if that. How long does it take to see a difference in lameness to know this corrective shoeing is working? I'm seeing an improvement but some limping. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm on the right path.
My mom went to NFR on severely navicular horse and I ran one until he was 25. We tried all the wedge pads etc. what WORKED amazingly is aluminum pads. Like what road signs are made of. Put one between the sole of the foot and shoe. Like a regular pad. It disperses pressure , zero concussion to the foot. Don't put any packing under it. Leave it open so you can squirt coppertox or fungus juice under it periodically. You will be amazed.

Ok! This is very good to know! I'm gonna pass this along to my farrier as well. He tried the pads, the pour in kind on him before we knew the diagnosis and it made him worst! We had to remove them.
