I have so many colts up and coming that I want to pull my hair out. A long yearling, a 3yo, 4yo, and an 8yo.

Three of them are VERY easy keepers, and one is meh mediocre keeper. They are all on pasture and a round bale 24/7. The drought has left the hay and grass quality to be dry in August, so the quality is down. My older finished horse is allergic to alfalfa, so it's grass hay with barely ANY alfalfa in it. 

The 8yo and the 3yo are getting worked daily (8yo getting patterned and rode on the ranch, 3yo getting saddled and round pen work). The other two are just enjoying life and growing. 

Wondering what some good feeds are?

**I live in the middle of nowhere Montana, so all we have nearby are Purina, Nutrena, Woody's, Triple Crown Senior and Complete. I want to avoid ordering off Chewy if I can, but may consider it for a good one. 

I've never used Woody's because we can't get it here, so I have no experience with them. The only Triple Crown dealer we have is Tractor Supply, and they just started selling TC in March. 

As for Purina, I've tried their Equine Junior, Ultium Growth, and Omolene 300. 

The equine Junior made my yearling really hot last year. It's a complete feed, but I was still feeding alfalfa.

I really liked the way my broodmare and her foal looked on the Ultium Growth, but at $30 every other week, it was too much for my pocket book.

I started feeding the Omolene 300 this March and I really love it. My yearlings aren't hot and look fabulous at 2lbs per day. I know many people here don't like the Omolene line (I don't either, lol) but I can't believe how good they look. I've heard that it has the lowest nsc level of the whole Omolene line...

Not sure if it was on your list, but I wouldn't recommend Nutrena. Their feeds come from a toxic mill where they mill both horse and cattle feed.

I'm a firm believer that a good forage source should be given to each horse. You'll be surprised on how well they'll look.
