| Hello Everyone! I was just wondering what your opinions are on Hilason treeless saddles. I rode in one the other day and it didn't seem so bad at all. Thanks in advance! |

Location: Kansas | I bought one in college when they first came out because I figured it was cheap, why not give it a chance... Promptly boxed it back up, and sent that thing back. They're junk. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I would stick to the Original Bob Marshalls or Circly Y.. They are like comparing apples to oranges. the Hiason are no where as good as a MB or Circle Y. |

Yep, that is what my friend says, too. The ONLY reason she bought the Hilason was because it was cheap and she wasn't sure her daughter would stay with barrel racing. Thankfully she did and she got her a much better saddle once she proved herself. A Double J, but she said that Hilason didn't sore up the horse although within a year, it was pretty worn out. |

Location: Fort Worth / Springtown | I haven't ever seen a Hilason in person, but have just heard about them (not good, mostly). I thnk for the price of these saddles, the company would lose money if they made a decent, durable saddle?? Just be aware and educate yourself as much as you can -- sharing for food for thought -- I bought at a pink fabric - no brand evident - at garage sale for $4. (pink fabric, sells for a little over $200 new) I figured it would be an interesting saddle fit lesson. I set it on my horses, then tore it apart and took pictures. And took pics again with just the bare tree. The tree was terribly shaped and had screws sticking out of the bottom of it. And the inside of the stirrup fenders and saddle skirts were foam and cardboard. Even the nylon on the stirrups and latigo was very poor quality (not a lot of thread as more durable straps).
