Does anyone know of good grocery store items that people feed their horses? I have heard that some people love to feed a specific type of gellatin to their horses for hoof and hair growth? I have also heard of people who feed Aloe to their horses and really enjoy it.
I have no personal experience with anything like this but thought it would be very interesting to see other not commonly known items are fed.
Thank you in advance!
Mustard and/or pineapple juice (not concentrate) for coughs.
Plain gelatin for hoof and mane.
Aloe juice for stomach.
Metamucil for sand clearing in the gut.
Knox gelatine
Some feed Epson salts for magnesium
pepto bismo and imodium for foals with scours.
Apple cidar vinegar
bacon greese and honey on wounds (not fed- but came to mind.)
