Ive been researching solar arena lights on and off for a couple of years. I keep finding an excuse (too expensive) not to buy them but I think we are at a breaking point around here needing to practice at night. I dont need It to be lit up like an operating room I just need enough light to exercise a couple of horses and help my daughter practice goat tying. I emailed a couple of commerical lighting places last year and the quotes were ridiculous. I even told them I only needed a few lights if even just 3 or 4 on one side of the arena. They both sent me lumen diagrams with all sorts of technical info and a price tag for LIGHTS ONLY between $75,000 and $145,000. So does anyone have a few solar lights that are remote control and you turn them on when you need them? or are the ones that come on automatically every night easier? thoughts on amount of lumens? What brand? How high did you mount them? How have they survived the weather? My arena is about 125 feet wide and 250 feet long. Im going to have to make it happen this year. I cant deal with the frustration of running out of daylight. Thanks in advance for the help :) |
