Location: Dearing, GA | I got my horse hair analysis results from ANJA Equine today, and was told a few things I didn't expect. She is currently fed Renew Gold and Purina Outlast, and ANJA said to stop feeding both of those. ANJA said while she isn't testing that she's allergic to any of the individual ingredients in Renew Gold, she is reacting negatively to Renew Gold in general. I don't quite understand that, but the way it was explained to me is her body can't use the ingredients well (?). I'll take her off the Outlast and start her on U-Guard pellets. Among other things, she's got a Lysine deficincy, so I've ordered that as well. There are several other recommendations made that I can understand, but I'm having a hard time not continuing to feed the Renew Gold if she's not allergic to it. She looks great, good coat, and I'm hoping maybe adding the Lysine and a gut health supplement that she's not allergic to could help her utilize the Renew Gold like she should. Any thoughts on this? The only "replacement feed" offered was to mix my own feed with timothy pellets and raw rice bran. |

Okay, that makes me feel better. I decided to keep feeding the Renew Gold and just switch to a different ulcer prevention and added Lysine.
I am trying to take what she said with a grain of salt because she did come off like quite the salesperson, but I also want my horse to feel good ?????? |

Location: Oklahoma | I also have talked to her too. and I did try to follow what she said bc what I was doing wasnt working. But her way wasnt working either. I took away the pain of one horse that I didnt know he had and he bloom in a week! so changing and trying to figure out all the feed crap didnt matter! You have a lot of variables to consider: your pasture is it really high in iron? I also have high selenium that I tested 1 horse and he was so close to toxic level. Our area we have high selenium in our pastures. stuff like that. If you dont want to test you can call your extension office and they can tell you what your area is like. |
